Why Al Kareem
These are the promises printed on our flyer. Here is what each one actually means when we cater your event.
More about usThe menu is the food people actually cook at home for an occasion — handi, biryani, seekh kebabs, chaat, gajar halwa — not a shortened version of it.
Food is prepared under the food safety procedures a registered catering business is required to operate.
Every package on this site can be changed. You can also ignore the packages entirely and build a menu dish by dish from the full list.
Three tiers at three guest counts, and a quote for anything outside them. Tell us the budget and we will tell you straight what it covers.
Timing is agreed at booking against when food must be on the table, not when it leaves the kitchen.
From our kitchen
Catering is bought on trust, because the customer never sees the part that matters. This is the work between your order and your guests sitting down.
One
Every event starts the same way: an empty table and a number. Fifty guests, a hundred, two hundred. That number decides the quantities, the timings and the size of the pots — and getting it wrong is the single most common catering mistake.
Two
Seekh kebabs, chicken drumsticks, lamb chops and tikka, cooked over heat rather than held under a lamp. Grills are timed last so they reach the table while they are still worth eating.
Three
Biryani and pilau cooked in the pot and rested before serving, the way it is done at home. Rice is the dish most often under-ordered and the one guests notice first when it runs out.
Four
Handi, jalfrezi, palak, keema and a choice of daal. These fill the middle of the table and they have to hold their temperature and texture through an entire service, not just the first ten minutes.
Five
Naan and roti, chaat, salad, then gajar halwa, kheer and ras malai. Laid out so a long queue moves quickly — the layout matters as much as the cooking when there are two hundred people waiting.
Six
On time, at temperature, and looking like an occasion. This is the only part your guests ever see, and everything before it exists to make it happen.
Our work
Every image here will be food we have actually cooked, at events we have actually catered.
We would rather our review page was honest than full. If we have catered for you, a few words would help the next family decide.
Leave a ReviewOutside these areas? Ask us anyway — we will tell you honestly whether we can do it well on your date.
Questions
We cater across Luton, including Bury Park, and the surrounding towns — Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Bedford, Harpenden, St Albans and further into Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire depending on the date and the size of the event. If you are outside that, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it well.
Our packages are quoted rather than fixed-price, because the cost depends on guest numbers, the dishes you choose, and whether you need delivery or collection. Send us your date, guest count and the package you are interested in and we will come back with a clear figure.
Our packages are built around 50, 100 and 200 guests. For anything larger, or for an event with several sittings, ask us for a quote and we will tell you what we can commit to for your date.
Yes. Every package can be customised, and you can also build a menu from scratch using the full menu. Tell us what you want on the table and we will price it.
The earlier the better, particularly for weddings and for dates in Ramadan, around Eid and through the summer wedding season, which are the busiest periods. If your date is close, still ask — we will tell you straight away whether we can take it.
Tell us your date, your guest numbers and the kind of occasion it is. We will come back with a clear quote and honest advice on what works.
